An assault creates a crisis—both for you and the people closest to you.  It is important to remember that it is not your fault; no matter what the circumstances, you did not deserve to be assaulted.

We at Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center are here to support both you and the people close to you. We know the courage and strength it takes to survive. Recovery can be a lengthy and difficult process.  Time, support, and talking with understanding people are all important parts of healing.

Our services exist because many women are assaulted. We provide domestic abuse and sexual assault services:

24-hour Crisis Line (toll free) 1-800-400-4884 & 1-800-550-0004.

For someone to whom you may talk; someone who will listen.

Trained peer counselors who will talk with you by phone or in person at a neutral location (away from your home). They also have information on community resources.

For you and your children. You can have time to yourself in order to rest and plan your next step.

Support Group

Meetings are held for you to talk, gain support, and share ideas.

To necessary doctors or hospital, court proceedings, or other considered circumstances.

Please call us anytime, day or night, to discuss any concerns, fears, or questions you may have.

We, at Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center, care about what has happened and want to help in any way we can.  No one deserves to be assaulted.

  1. I am Med/Surg nurse manager at Guthrie County Hospital, other than the pamphlets and cards that we have. Is there any specific information that we can be giving our new staff members, such as who(not specific names) does our provider do the physical exams and evidence collection or does an outside person get called in to do this. An info you can share would be helpful.

    • Hello,

Yes we can provide a training for your new staff to introduce them to our agency and what we do. Brittany Shinn, SANE Coordinator here at Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center is very knowledgeable about hospital procedures. You can reach Brittany at or call our office number 515-993-4095.Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

      Thank you!

  2. Now running an organization to help victims and survivors, this would not have been possible without your help. Hannah, that is the advocate. This young woman literally saved my life, I had reached my breaking point, my limit.
She held my hand through the process, and ensured that I made it through.
Please do know you have some amazing advocates, but Hannah sticks out, she was there for me in ways that my own family or best friend could never be and I would love to recognize her if any awards are coming up. Hannah is the one advocate who has left my life with some hope.
    Thank you.
